Solar plane lands in New York City

A solar-powered airplane finished crossing the United States on Saturday, landing in New York City after flying over the Statue of Liberty during its historic bid to circle the globe, the project team said.  The spindly, single-seat experimental aircraft, dubbed Solar Impulse 2, arrived at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport at about 4 a.m. local time after it took off about five hours beforehand at Lehigh Valley International Airport in Pennsylvania, the team reported on the airplane's website.  Such a pleasure to land in New York! For the 14th time we celebrate sustainability," said the project's co-founder Andre Borschberg on Twitter after flying over the city and the Statue of Liberty during the 14th leg of the trip around the globe. The Swiss team flying the aircraft in a campaign to build support for clean energy technologies hopes eventually to complete its circumnavigation in Abu Dhabi, where the journey began in March 2015. A scholar with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Vic Doig, likewise told the Associated Press that the winged animals that moved to Snake Key are just a small amount of those that would typically be on Seahorse Key, as indicated by the Associated Press.
Researchers got to be mindful of the serious calm in May on Seahorse Key.  The flying creatures that typically settle here- - minimal blue herons, roseate spoonbills, blanketed egrets, pelicans and others- - were gone. Homes sat exhaust in trees, as per a press discharge from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).  "It's a no man's land now," said Vic Doig, a USFWS researcher, as per the AP. "This is the place the biggest flying creature state on the Gulf Coast of Florida used to be."  Seahorse Key has generally been a route station for feathered creature species and it is a piece of the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge, close Crystal River, Florida. It's available just by pontoon.

"In any case, for this situation, what's confusing is that the greater part of the species did it at the same time."  In response, researcher made a move: They tried left-behind winged animal corpses for infection or contaminants. Their test outcomes were negative. They discovered no indications of new predators. They noticed an increment in night flights over the range by reconnaissance planes and helicopters used to battle drug runners- - yet they feel that interruption from the planes' commotion is a longshot, says Doig, as indicated by the AP.
Researchers are worried about whether the relinquishment could have a gradually expanding influence: Is the island shelter lost? Will different creatures on the key be influenced by the winged creatures' flight, they asked, by AP.

"Any rookery that is continued for a considerable length of time as

"It's very much a substantial state. There must be some serious occasion that would push every one of these winged creatures away."
